Focus: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Drafter to lead and support complex drafting projects using CAD tools, create and revise technical drawings, and collaborate with engineers and project teams to ensure accurate and efficient design documentation. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of design standards, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Senior Design Drafter Job Functions:

• Create and revise detailed 2D/3D CAD drawings from engineering sketches and specifications.

• Lead drafting efforts on complex projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance with standards, and timely delivery.

• Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to resolve design issues and support project goals.

• Maintain drawing records, manage revisions, and ensure document control processes are followed.

• Mentor junior drafters and provide guidance on best practices, tools, and design standards.

Senior Design Drafter Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent: Associate degree* or certification in Drafting or Engineering Technology preferred.

• 10+ years of experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit).

• Strong knowledge of drafting standards, GD&T, and design documentation.

• Experience managing drawing revisions and working with document control systems.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to mentor junior team members.

Location-Specific Requirements:

• This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
• This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
• This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. The US Government does not allow non-US citizens on-site at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. Therefore, to be considered in the hiring process, the candidate must be a US citizen.
