Staff Accountant

Job Overview: We're a Commercial General Contractor looking to find a solid Staff Accountant to join our ranks. This position will work under the CFO, manage the AP department and conduct all general accounting duties and activities within the business. The ideal candidate will be familiar with a fast paced, entrepreneurial business model, able to pivot quickly and dive into new business ventures. Must be a problem solver, fast learner and team player. This position requires someone with strong GAAP experience willing to learn and work in multiple roles including GL, bank reconciliation, accounts receivable, and payroll.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Monitor and reconcile daily cash balances to ensure requirements are met.
  • Own the monthly accounting cycle.
  • Review all month-end reports (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Inventory, Payroll) and ensure accuracy to the CFO.
  • Prepare month end reconciliation and journal transactions included, but not limited to equipment loans, fixes asset schedule, depreciation and major balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist with preparation of Work in Progress (WIP) report.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements for CFO's review.
  • Provides management with ad hoc analysis and other reconciliations per CFO direction.
  • Own payroll preparation process and assist in HR functions as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain current process documentation for the accounting department.
  • Prepare and distribute construction draws to project owners.
  • Review aging receivables and manage collections.
  • Gather certificates of insurance and financial statements audits and reviews.
  • Conducts monthly reconciliation for bank statements.
  • Complete budget preparation and monitor budget use.
  • Other miscellaneous tasks as needed.
  • Values and models the solution provider and profitability culture.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related degree with accounting coursework
  • 3+ years of corporate accounting experience
  • Prior construction accounting experience preferred
  • Prior experience with Sage strongly preferred
  • Requires strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Location: Longmont, CO

Classification: FLSA- Exempt

Salary: $90,000-$120,000 annually, depending on experience

Schedule: 8:00AM-5:00PM, Monday-Friday
