ABOUT THE POSITION

Communications Lead - People + Culture Team

We are seeking a collaborative and motivated communications professional to fill our Communications Lead role within the People+Culture (P+C) team. This position will report to the Communications Manager, who oversees all P+C and other internal employee communications. Serving as the liaison between the P+C team and other departments, this role will lead and support internal and external communications initiatives. These efforts will focus on enhancing employee culture, engagement, and recruitment, in alignment with VHB's strategic plan, growth initiatives, and goals.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

    Independently leads the implementation of strategic communications projects/assignments and deliverables in support of VHB's strategic plan and key growth initiatives related to employee engagement, culture, and recruitment efforts.
  • Leads and oversees content development, communications campaigns, employee communications and engagement strategies, and other key activities that maximize overall visibility, differentiate VHB's culture and position the firm as an employer of choice on internal and external channels.
  • Collaborates with recruiting and Development + Strategy teams to shape and guide the focus and content of communications programs and visibility efforts, including recruitment materials, brochures, events, and employee communications initiatives.
  • Coordinates P+C social media strategy, creates compelling posts, updates content on LinkedIn Life pages and Glassdoor, and ensures alignment with corporate messaging and brand identity.
  • Guides development of content for VHB Central, blogs, social media, and other communications platforms (e.g., content coordination, development, quality review, promotion). Determines and/or approves placement of internal and external communications.
  • Coordinates and works with internal and external photography/video/design production teams as needed.
  • Leads P+C projects and initiatives and is an ambassador of the P+C Team in support of employee engagement, VHB's brand, and our culture.
  • Provides and coordinates communication coaching and support to regions, recruiting team, and others as needed.

  • Familiarity with employer brand trends and recruitment marketing.
  • Exceptional writing, storytelling, and content creation skills.
  • Excellent research, writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Passionate collaborator who excels in a team environment.
  • Project manager with strong attention to detail.
  • Creative, strategic, and organized self-starter.
  • Proactive relationship builder with various internal stakeholders.
  • Experience in program management, content planning, and cross-functional collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 6-8 years' experience, leading & supporting corporate communication projects and programs (AEC industry preferred).
  • BA in Public Relations, Marketing, English, Communications, Journalism, or a related discipline.
