Overview

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Journeyman Computer Network Architect to join our team on an upcoming contract to support the Unites States Coast Guard USCG) Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) Information Systems Division (ISD) in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. The USCG ALC ISD provides development, security, and operations (DevSecOps) IT support for products and services for the Coast Guard Information Officer (CIO), Commandant, and Coast Guard Cyber Command through a geo-dispersed workforce including military, civilians, an contractor personnel committed to supporting the USCG's missions and requirements of the leading growing interconnectivity, increased reliance on data and networks, and development of commercial space and artificial intelligence systems.

Position is on-site with off-site capabilities.



Duties & Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the Journeyman Computer Network Architect include:

    Design and implement computer and information networks, such as LANs, WANs, intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks.
  • Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning.
  • May also design network and computer security measures.
  • May research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software.
  • Provide support to monitor, install and perform maintenance on personal computers, laptop computers, software, and networks.
  • Provide support in responding to system user requests for assistance.
  • Provide support for on-the-spot diagnostic evaluations, implementation of corrections, and training users in proper operation of systems and programs.
  • Provide support to: install and provide basic support for approved PC software; perform upgrades to all computer platforms, train office staff on computers, maintain logs and inventory of equipment repairs, assist in administering all computer platforms as directed and assist in resolving any operations problems.
  • Support the agency LAN Administrator with server maintenance and administration.
  • Require general knowledge of network products including, but not limited to, Novell, CISCO, and UNIX.


Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance required.
  • Bachelor's or associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Math, or related field or at minimum IT Certification.
    • Note: Two (2) years' experience is equivalent to one (1) year of education.
  • Two (2) years' experience in planning and designing data communication networks.
  • Two (2) years of performing security remediation to systems with vulnerabilities based on security scans.
  • One (1) year of experience in Agile DevSecOps software and engineering environment and Methodologies.
  • One (1) year of experience with Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket or equivalent.
