About the Role:
Area Manager Contract Administration
We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and results-oriented leader to drive the growth and performance in our Contracts Area of the business.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, guidance and mentoring to team members across theAbrams Family of Vehiclesportfolio that support Contract Administration duties to include the following activities:
- AreaManager will have direct responsibility and engagement with the Army Contracting Command at the Chief level for complex contracts, significant engagements such as Major Programs of Record, Significant Competitive Procurements, CLS/Service and Development contracts as required.
- Coordinate all required approvals and notifications pursuant to contract administration procedures and company standard practices.
- Oversee and advise in the preparation, development, and signoff of proposals, negotiations and execution of modifications
- Official Company interface and correspondence to include
- Follow-up and track customer correspondence; interface with internal and external customers to ensure prompt resolution of issues
- Drafting of internal contract administration documentation
- People leadership role with direct reportsfor segment of scope within overall portfolio
- This person will be the Department Manager delegate in managers absence
Minimum Qualifications / What you must have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, appropriate Liberal Arts or Science, Engineering. Other bachelor degrees or disciplines considered with experience.
- MBA or law degree preferred.
- At least8years professional experience in contracts, procurement, program management or relevant discipline.
- Prior experience with Government contracting is strongly desired
- Adherence to schedules and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and accomplish tasks in a timely and professional manner.
- Reading, interpreting, drafting contractual language and documents.
- Knowledgeable in the FAR and DFARSrequired.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) required.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Some travel may be required.
- This person is expected to developdepartment/division expertise such as unique FAR expertise, negotiation expertise, leadsubject matter expertfor contract actions, etc.
- This role will be expected toprovide mentorship and guidance to entry-level employees and lower-level contract administrators for continued career growth.
Additional Information:
This position will require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance)
- Able to bring continuous improvement processes and methodologies to the position. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills is required. Works well in team and individually
- Must be able to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtime as required
