The Operations Specialist is primarily responsible for the processing of applications and application materials for over 8,900 applicants, support of the main Admission and Financial Aid switchboard, support of the visitor reception operation, and support of other Admission and Financial Aid staff. This position will also support the coordination of on-campus Admission and Financial Aid programs and events. Primary Responsibilities: Work with all aspects of a complex application process, receiving application materials for over 8,900 applicants including setup, tracking, and maintaining confidential files. Process applications and prospect requests from first-year and transfer students including supporting materials from numerous and different sources, entering admission committee decisions in the CRM database, and preparing decision letters by performing accurate computer data entry (including confidential ratings) in a quick, efficient manner, in an active and fast-paced work environment. Respond to telephone and email inquiries from first-year and transfer students. Advise and resolve problems while cultivating good relations via phone and email with prospects, applicants, accepted students, parents, high school officials, community-based organizations, alumni, and other offices on campus at all stages of a year-long process. Provide assistance to the main Admission and Financial Aid switchboard and visitor reception operation on a regular basis. Provide assistance in the collection and mailing of travel materials in support of traveling counselors, and support of other areas in Admission and Financial Aid as needed. Provide assistance in the planning, preparation, and coordination of on-campus Admission and Financial Aid programs and events. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Minimum of one year of general clerical or administrative work experience. Excellent organizational and communication skills, outstanding attention to detail, self-starter, and ability to work in a team environment. Technical dexterity and advanced computer knowledge in Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Slate, Google Workspace and Banner with an interest in learning new computer skills. Ability to learn the laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to assigned areas of responsibility including confidentiality of student information. Ability to learn and adhere to Davidson College policies related to Admission, Financial Aid, and the greater institution. Ability to understand the college rules and regulations relating to student enrollment.
