Summary
|
Michigan Technological University seeks a Sr. Office Assistant to provide professional and administrative support to the Office of Admissions. Provide support for prospective students and their support network, and high school counselors and teachers in regards to the admissions process.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties
|
1. Serve as an integral part of our domestic application processing team by uploading application materials, releasing admissions decisions, and running daily error reports 2. Answer main admissions phone lines, return voicemails and respond to general Admissions email 3. Analyze and update data from application to Slate and Banner 4. Troubleshoot issues as needed when pushing applications through the process 5. Compile and organize high school and college transcripts for entry into Slate/Banner 6. Process and distribute delivered mail 7. Address discrepancies regarding applicant's residency 8. Maintain high school CEEB codes 9. Assist with mailing of acceptance packets, deposit packets, and parent guides 10. Interact with administrative units including academic departments, Financial Aid, Registrars, Payroll Services, and Graduate School 11. Assist with managing duplicate applications 12. Troubleshoot prospective student login information 13. Assist with the supervision of front desk students and assign them projects as needed 14. Assist with daily campus visits by helping guests register, greeting guests, and answering questions 15. Assist at large-scale on-campus recruitment events including Open House and Preview Day 16. Commit to continuously improving and thinking of outside-the-box solutions that would improve our admissions process 17. Take an active role in staying current with Michigan Tech news, events, facts, figures, degree programs, and related institutional information 18. Commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work. Actively engage in University continuous improvement initiatives 19. Apply safety-related knowledge, skills, and practices to everyday work 20. Other duties as assigned

Required Education, Certifications, Licensures
|
High school diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired
|
Required Experience
|
* 1 years experience in clerical or administrative support * 1 years experience using personal computers, basic software packages such as Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite * 1 years experience in a customer service setting
|
Desirable Education and/or Experience
|
* Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired * Experience working with databases or CRM systems such as Banner and Slate * Experience working in high school setting or higher education
