SUMMARY

The Supervising Media Producer is a critical member of the Learning Experience Design Media team, helping to implement high-level strategy into actionable production processes. S/he consistently manages multiple large projects simultaneously, at all stages of production. As needed, conducts RFPs, develops production budgets and schedules, and provides oversight to multiple vendors on project process, requirements, and visual guidelines. This position will source, develop relationships, and provide guidance for external vendors and freelancers, as well as work closely with internal team members across the organization. The Supervising media producer oversees planning and execution of a variety of media projects that support Savvas' K-12 Cross Curricular Product Lines. A content creator at heart, the media producer has the ability to help plan, create, and deliver on our Media Strategy. Effective media producers have a dynamic skill set with the ability to fulfill several creative production tasks while also tapping their analytical mind to help assess a project and determine the production strategy that will best support our approved budgets and timelines. The Supervising Media producer is a critical steward for providing governance over media assets across all our K-12 Programs.

SCOPE AND IMPACT OF JOB

Supervisory responsibilities:

The Supervising Media Producer is responsible for translating high-level strategies into actionable production processes. This role manages multiple projects at various stages of production, overseeing vendors, freelancers, and internal teams. As a dynamic content creator and project leader, the Supervising Producer ensures quality media production aligned with organizational objectives while maintaining strong cross-departmental collaboration. The Supervising Media Producer will be assigned to lead Media efforts for large and small scale programs. S/he will collaborate with Design, Editorial, PMM and Technology in place of the Managing Producer or Director of Media Strategy on certain projects. The Media Producer may also be consulted on new program budget estimates and prototyping efforts. Responsible for a moderate level of administrative, logistical and technical duties in all stages of video and multimedia production.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Main Responsibilities:



  • Assist with every facet of video and creative services including ideating unique concepts, developing production plans, gathering input from stakeholders, scheduling, production, and post-production work.
  • Prepare media files to be shared across multiple platforms.
  • Be proactive in developing the use of video; provide ideas and outlets for how to implement video into the overall communication strategy at Savvas.
  • Support Internal creative needs.
  • Process improvement and team communication with multiple partners.
  • Concepting and detailed planning.
  • Review and hire talent and crew.
  • Plan and budget with internal and external production partners.
  • Script, storyboard, budget, allocate resources, set deadlines, and select optimal forms of media for projects.
  • Develop production schedules.
  • Develop creative and content-driven scriptwriting -- an almost journalistic approach to explaining key concepts.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite with emphasis on Premiere and After Effects, Media Encoder and Audition.
  • Proficiency in Google G-Suite.
  • Thorough understanding of media management and archiving best practices with the ability to follow established procedures and workflows.
  • Knowledge of other design tools, motion graphics practices, sound design, and photography is a plus.
  • Strong technical, process analysis and documentation skills.
  • Unflappable, with the ability to bring a sense of calm assurance to high-energy interactions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, listening, and communication skills.
  • Minimum of 10 years producing Media assets, videography and video editing experience.
  • 5 years experience with educational media, instructional software, or e-learning.
  • Flexibility, initiative, autonomy, and creativity is a must.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily which may include occasionally lifting production equipment and building sets.
