Part of Dover Corporation's Engineered Systems segment, Vehicle Service Group (VSG) is a strong, diverse and dynamic global leader in the vehicle service industry. SUMMARY: Vehicle Services Group (VSG), a global leader in designing and manufacturing vehicles service, collision, and automotive OEM equipment, is looking for a seasoned production leader to join our growing Madison, Indiana facility. Reporting to the Vice President, Business Operations, the role is responsible for the management and operation of the Shipping/Receiving area of the VSG Madison facility including the direct supervision of all Shipping/Receiving and Parts employees. In addition, the role will coordinate with Sales, Production and Materials to ensure the timely delivery of lifts and parts for customer orders and implementing process improvement activities. RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure that employee safety requirements are strictly adhered to with a goal of zero lost work time injuries. Responsible for compliance with all EPA, OSHA, hazardous materials, and government related procedures and regulations. Responsible for maintaining a high level of housekeeping with all work areas and equipment being maintained in a clean and orderly fashion. Effectively contains logistical cost and consistently analyzes cost reduction opportunities by applying best in class methodologies. Oversee all aspects of the traffic function including inbound/outbound optimization, route utilization, proper carrier selection and load consolidation. Achieve cycle count metrics and monitors incoming receiving for accuracy. Promptly informs operations/procurement of trends in receiving discrepancies. Establishes standards for parts picking and shipping. Monitors standards for adherence and develops productivity plans on an annual basis. Coordinate, manage, and plan workflow such that complete units and parts are shipped on time. Participate in product planning, development, and rationalization of new and existing products. Responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements in the Parts and Shipping areas which improve cost, efficiency and productivity. World Class (Lean) Manufacturing - Responsible for the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles in order to eliminate waste. Responsible for the supervision of department employees to include overall direction, mentoring and training. Works with Leadership Team and Human Resources to attract, develop and retain talent in accordance with all applicable Company policies, and creates an environment that recognizes and maximizes the potential of all employees; where cross functional teamwork flourishes and strategic objectives are met or exceeded. Manage and facilitate department needs of procurement management activities and the relationship between VSG Supply Chain and its suppliers.Working with the Strategic Sourcing Group to obtain the lowest total cost of ownership in materials and services. Handles special projects and other duties as assigned. OVERALL QUALIFICATIONS - Skills and Experience Education: Bachelor's Degree Experience: Five to seven years' related experience in a manufacturing environment with extensive knowledge of cycle count processes, shipping and receiving procedures, and transportation. Must have solid PC skills. Dedicated to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing. Experience with ISO9000 operating principles. Thorough knowledge of industry best practices.
