Summary:

The Freight Forwarding Supervisor INTL Is responsible for supervising the import and export personnel of the department. This position manages workflow to ensure maximum productivity is reached and ensures that all activities within the department are compliant with government agency rules and regulations.

Job Duties: -




  • Supervises the team personnel by managing workflow and team productivity and addressing employee performance and additional personnel standards
  • Prepares and monitors clients report
  • Maintains communication with customers and provides market competitive rate quotes
  • Develops Internal Operating Procedures (IOP) based on customer specifications
  • Handles accounting processes; including monitoring AP/AR issues
  • Overall responsibility for the commercial and operational management of projects or shipments.
  • Proper implementation of all details of project execution under your assignment.
  • Lead effective communication with clients and suppliers.
  • Contract reviewing, finance controlling, operational details management, align all project functions and report to management.
  • Review and enhance existing operational processes and procedures for improved efficiency.
  • Lead and mentor team members providing guidance and support to enhance skills and performance.
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities to support company growth.
  • Responding with pricing and comprehensive technical and commercial proposals for client's inquiries to expand business opportunities.
  • Prepare and submit quotations.
  • Monitor and manage the profit and loss (P&L) of projects.
  • Manage planning and coordination for project shipments, including coordination of road, rail, air, sea, or other transportation methods.
  • Manage quoting, organizing, billing, documentation, and execution of shipments from door to door.
  • Analyze the schedule, quality, and performance of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Assess the performance of suppliers and subcontractors to ensure high-quality services.
  • Adhere to ISO and OHSA standards and guidelines provided by the company.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety and promote a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Continuously work towards reducing the environmental impact of projects based on defined targets.
  • Invoice jobs under stablished KPI's.
  • Contribute to the development, documentation, and implementation of efficient work processes, including management of change to optimize project operations.
  • Resolve any issues that arise during the shipping process, including delays, damages, and lost shipments.
  • Maintain accurate records of all shipping transactions.
  • Monitor transportation costs and work to minimize expenses.
  • Ensure timely and quality responses in the department.
  • Attend trainings and exhibitions upon request.
  • Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, arrival notices, delivery orders, invoices, and invoice packages.
  • Track and trace shipments from departure to arrival, alerting clients accordingly and manage on hand receipts.
  • Review freight invoices for accuracy and dispute any discrepancies.



Requirements:

* High School Diploma or GED equivalent

* Minimum 4 years relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

* Minimum 2 years experience in a supervisory capacity

* Minimum 2 to 4 years experience with export compliance and a thorough understanding of TSA requirements and regulations

* DG Certification required

* Must be PC literate and proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

* Ability to successfully pass a TSA Security Threat Assessment (STA) background check

* Ability to successfully pass the TSA Indirect Air Carrier Training Program

* Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals

* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public

* Ability to function efficiently in a high stress environment

* Able to identify opportunities for improvement, suggest such opportunity to management and develop the procedure necessary to implement

* Ability to multitask
