Position Summary |
The Recruitment and Enrollment Coordinator, serving on a team of professionals in the Jere W. Morehead Honors College, is a full-time recruiter reporting directly to the Dean of the Honors College. Working with the Dean, the individual has responsibility for enrollment management as well as overseeing the processing of applications to the Honors College from high school, current
UGA, and transfer students. In concert with leadership and staff, this individual works to enroll a talented incoming class with a superior academic profile. This position has accountability for the performance of the Honors College in meeting this goal. In addition to overseeing the at-large Honors College recruitment process, the position collaborates with
UGA Undergraduate Admissions and assists in supporting the College's internal scholarship processes. The Recruitment and Enrollment Coordinator monitors and analyzes current and historical application and admission data as well as creating and implementing yield activities, including on-campus events, on an independent basis. This position is also responsible for assisting with individual campus visits and arranging group visits by prospective students. The position involves occasional work during evenings and weekends in order to meet notification deadlines or provide timely information. Initiative and independent judgment are necessary and daily aspects of this role. |

- The Recruitment and Enrollment Coordinator is responsible for enrolling a targeted number of first-year Honors students with a superior academic profile. Successfully meeting this goal involves recruitment, acceptance, and yield activities, as well as enrollment management.
- This position leads the overall Honors College recruitment effort and is responsible for developing creative strategies to guide this effort. Working with the Dean, this position develops an annual strategic plan to identify students, high schools, and regions for recruitment.
- Implementation of the recruitment plan may include travel to high schools for recruitment purposes, including some evening and weekend information and yield events. Communication with individual students includes email and phone campaigns; publications; and interactions with prospective students and parents through information sessions, on-campus events, and individual appointments. Project management for this position includes engagement with institutional data, intervention planning, managing the application read process, and training readers. The position also works closely with the Honors College Ambassador group.
- To control enrollment and make acceptance decisions, the position monitors historical Honors enrollment patterns and data in setting target admission and yield numbers. The Coordinator oversees the processing of applications to the Honors College from high school, current UGA, and transfer students. The admission cycle may necessitate reading files during evenings and weekends at peak times in order to meet notification deadlines. Initiative and independent judgment is a necessary and daily aspect of this role.
