The opportunity: The purpose of this role is to lead financial and budget analyses, providing insightful and forward-looking analysis for the AP division. This involves evaluating complex financial data, collaborating with key stakeholders, and influencing investment decision-making. Additionally, the role is responsible for producing accurate and timely management information, including complex financial performance analysis and translating data into decision-relevant insights to ensure alignment with business objectives.

  • Location: Sun Prairie, WI (One QBE Way) or Chicago, IL (500 W Madison Street)

  • Work Arrangement: This role is hybrid, where you will be expected to be in the office 2-3 days per week

  • The salary range for this role is $96,500.00 - $144, 500.00 (WI) and $106,000.00-$159,000.00 (IL)

Responsibilities:

  • Develop long-term and near-term financial plans, partnering with relevant functional areas to articulate business priorities and financial plans to execute against those priorities.

  • Deliver accurate financial reporting metrics by analyzing financial data, performing complex data entry, verifying accuracy and collaborating with senior leadership as needed.

  • Assist Finance Business Partners in developing and executing strategies to help achieve the goals and objectives of the departments/towers.

  • Prepare and maintain the budgeting and forecasting tool for assigned line(s) of business.

  • Implement KPI and dashboard reporting suites and provide insightful analysis for management.

  • Prepare regular reports, recommendations, and interpretations to the leadership group based on financial and operating data and variances in the budget.

  • Ensure compliance with existing policies, procedures and relevant regulations/legislations.

  • Maintain an efficient, effective and comprehensive process for developing financial plans and analysis that links to the strategic objectives.

  • Assist in the financial analysis of feasibility of projects as well as benefits realized from key initiatives.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.

Work Experience:

Necessary Work Experience includes:

  • Some relevant work experience.

Preferred Work Experience includes:

  • Significant experience in an accounting/planning and analysis role, with preference for MI system implementation.

  • Exposure to insurance business and regional roles.

  • Experience in the insurance industry, with exposure to AIFRS being advantageous.

  • Preference for work experience in consulting and/or financial planning and analysis, as well as in a shared service environment.

  • Professional experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) within a finance role, with increasing levels of responsibility.

Qualifications:

Necessary Qualifications include:

  • Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Certificates as an accountant.

Compensation Package: The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate's professional background, including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary, regular full-time and part-time employees will also be eligible for QBE's annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance.We encourage all candidates to apply, even if their salary expectations fall outside of this range, as we are committed to finding the right fit for our team.
