Overview

CAES - Mission Systems is a leading supplier of integrated RF solutions and high power, solid state broadband transmitters for EW and Radar applications. We also design and manufacture antennas and precision positioners both for standalone aperture and positioner requirements as well as integrated sensor systems across many high-performance applications.

Due to exciting growth, our Woburn MA location is recruiting a Senior Test Engineer to design, develop, and implement test software and techniques to support integration, qualification and acceptance testing of electronic assemblies, subassemblies and systems.

Our engineering team is comprised of 100+ professionals encompassing: systems, software, RF, power amplifier, antenna, mechanical, reliability, test engineers and other specialties. Reporting to the Test Engineering Manager, our ideal candidate has a strong engineering and programming background in Test supporting a diverse product portfolio through all stages of the product lifecycle. It's necessary to have proven capabilities in working across functions in a matrix organization to achieve operational results.


Responsibilities

Provide test software engineering expertise and support while working collaboratively with cross-functional and cross-site teams to achieve customer satisfaction and operational excellence delivering results on business improvement objectives

* Design, develop, and implement robust and reliable test software solutions to interface with complex RF subsystems and assemblies in support of a fast-paced product development environment. * Implement hardware/software protocols & engineering tools for new product development. * Develop application test software for multi-board/processor systems with both FPGAs and CPUs. * Design, develop, and implement intuitive communications interfaces between equipment and the user. * Assignments are broad and may include developing/evaluating new techniques/plans/procedures. * Perform technical assignments of an investigatory nature requiring minimal direction from senior engineering personnel. * Interfacing directly with customers to provide suggestions/support to ensure design compliance with requirements. * Support Engineering and Operations with testing outside the normal test process, create test setups and test procedures as require


Qualifications

Minimum:

  • BS degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Must have experience with testing the parameters of RF components; switches, amplifiers, up/down converters, etc.
  • Must have experience with RF test equipment such as Signal Generators, Network Analyzers, Power meters etc.
  • Familiar with measuring and analyzing RF signals in the microwave and millimeter wave domains.
  • 3 or more years of experience with LabView.
  • 8 years' experience or equivalent experience/education as a Test Engineer designing, developing, and implementing detailed test strategies and test techniques to support the integration and acceptance testing of complex electronic assemblies, subassemblies and systems.
  • 2 years' experience developing automated test scripts/programs.
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred:

  • 10 years' experience developing automated test scripts / programs
  • Experience with Microsoft .Net environment (C++, C#, VB).
  • Experience with configuration management principles and tools (e.g. SVN, GIT, or ClearCase).
  • Proficient in automating acceptance test procedures using VB. NET utilizing established test executive.
  • Knowledge in the design/development/integration of software drivers for integration with hardware.
  • Working knowledge in common HW interfaces/data protocols (e.g. TCPIP, UDP, RS-422, USB, PCI, CAN).
  • Highly proficient in utilizing software debugging and integrity check tools.
  • Understanding of computer HW/SW optimization techniques. Experience in developing software requirements to meet higher-level system goals
  • Experience in developing software requirements to meet higher-level system goals.
  • Familiar with various test automation devices; limit switches, encoders, resolvers, relays, etc.
  • Familiarity with DoD industry and DSS security procedures (NISPOM).
  • Active DOD SECRET security clearance or above.

Salary Range: Principal Sotware Test Engineer: $118,701.65 - $178,052.48

Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
