Who we are looking for: The Assistant Manager Loan Processing is primarily tasked with supervising the ordering out the following list of items to ready the file for the processor review. This position is responsible for logging/review of queue assignments daily, balance load assignments as needed due to outages and/or assisting team members who need assistance. What you'll do:
- Assist, mentor, and motivate team members to exceed daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals and KPI's
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and train direct Lead and manage daily activities of assistant mortgage processors
- Assign priorities, establish, and communicate deadlines and track problems while ensuring capacity within the APROC team
- Ensure data integrity and accurate tracking via the use of daily management reports as well as the reporting provided from the Regional Executive Administrator
- Responsible for completing and delivering the monthly scorecard, and annual review/performance review
- Enforce adherence to all state and federal regulations, mortgage lending and underwriting guidelines, and RESPA requirements
- Remain current on industry and technology changes and carry a pipeline to include one set-up per day
- Available to answer questions and aid team daily, which may require the need for the supervisor to complete more than one set-up per day
- Provide daily oversight and perform monthly spot checks on file
- In conjunction with the Regional Management Team, generate and implement file flow improvements to enhance the loan officer, borrower, referral partner, and team experience
- Maintain a positive work environment by developing helpful relationships with additional team members, mortgage loan officers, processors, underwriters, and operations manager to ensure a smooth loan process
- Perform other job-related duties and or special projects as assigned
What you'll need to be successful: Success in this job relies on your time management skills, organization, and positive attitude. In addition, you'll need the following qualifications:
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- Working knowledge of the mortgage industry, loan products and programs (FHLMC, CA, FHA, FNMA, Jumbo, USDA, etc.), and state and federal regulations and laws (RESPA, etc.)
- 3+ years of management experience in mortgage operations, preferably in processing management or as a sales manager or operations manager preferred
- 3-5 years of experience with high-volume loan processing as a team lead in mortgage lending or mortgage banking, or at a credit union will also be accepted
- A clear and proven understanding of the residential mortgage loan process from application through selling the loan package to an investor.
- Knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, & VA underwriting guidelines
- Superb organization, interpersonal, training, communication, and time management skills are required
- Experience using Loansoft LOS is a plus
- Excellent communication skills
- Current NMLS Mortgage Loan Originator license preferred
