Job Summary

The Director of Network Optimization and the Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for the strategic oversight and management of the PMO within an organization. This role ensures that all projects align with the organization's strategic goals, adhere to best practices, and are executed efficiently. The PMO Director leads a team, establishes policies, and reports on project performance to executive management. They play a crucial role in communicating project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders. The PMO director will also be responsible for cost savings projects to help optimize the network and save monthly recurring costs.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the PMO team, including project managers, supervisors, and program leads.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the PMO.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills of the PMO team.
  • Ensure projects align with the organization's overall strategic goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to prioritize projects based on strategic importance.
  • Develop and maintain a project portfolio that supports the organization's strategic vision.
  • Establish and maintain project management processes, policies, and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuously review and improve PMO processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Track and monitor project performance using key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Provide regular reports to stakeholders, highlighting project progress, risks, and issues.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage and allocate project resources effectively, including budget, staffing, and tools.
  • Optimize resource utilization to ensure project success.
  • Develop resource plans and forecasts to support project needs.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to executive management and other stakeholders.
  • Facilitate effective communication between project teams and stakeholders.
  • Ensure transparency and clarity in all project communications.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Engage stakeholders in project planning and execution.
  • Address stakeholder concerns and ensure their needs are met.
  • Interview, hire, and develop a high-performing PMO team.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to team members.
  • Promote professional development and career growth within the PMO.
  • Negotiate with and manage the performance of external vendors.
  • Ensure vendors meet project requirements and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships to support project success.
Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree and/or 10+ years of related work experience.
* Five or more years of relevant project management leadership experience in a technology environment.
* Successful operational process management experience.
* Experience managing and influencing cross functional relationships.
* Ability to present and interact with all levels of management and deliver compelling board presentations.

Pay ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience.
