Fleet Management Planner - DEA Program - Fort Worth, TX

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following duties. • Informs and discusses aircraft and maintenance issues with FM Lead, Aircraft Maintenance Manager, Program Manager and customer representatives.
• Maintains strict adherence to airworthiness directives and OEM requirements.
• Performs tasking outlined in FAR 91.405(a) and assists with FAR 91.405(b) entries for aircraft return to service
• Enters and tracks aircraft maintenance data in current MRO tracking system
• Documents aircraft status throughout the day in MRO tracking system and updates the Aircraft Daily Status Report.
• Builds detailed list of inspection and maintenance events; incorporates the list into a bid package that is supplied to the Acquisition Section to obtain cost quotes.
• Assists in monitoring and coordinating cost, schedule, and on-time delivery of all ongoing aircraft maintenance events including special projects.
• Assists in expediting service supplier support / part(s) / material(s) when required for AOG aircraft
• Assists Vertex field site mechanics and subcontractors with technical issues, directing them to the appropriate maintenance technical staff for assistance.
• Assists in forecasting significant scheduled maintenance inspections and life limited component overhauls and retirements; provides aircraft downtime estimates to FM Lead.
• Ensures compliance with company and contract policies and procedures and ethics programs.
• Assists in resolving conflicts, discrepancies or omissions related to technical guidance.
• Ensures compliance with all safety precautions.
• Able to work any assigned shift or schedule, including mission support outside normal duty hours.
• Travels as required to support program and mission requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years of monitoring aircraft maintenance of diversified, as well as remotely located, aircraft fleet OR Associate's Degree's plus 4 years of experience monitoring aircraft maintenance of diversified, as well as remotely located, aircraft fleet OR High School diploma or GED equivalent plus 6 years of experience monitoring aircraft maintenance of diversified, as well as remotely located, aircraft fleet.
• Two years of technical trade school, military experience, or equivalent on-the-job training.
• Intermediate level of proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite components (Outlook, Excel, Word and OneNote).
• Understanding of operations and usage of aircraft maintenance tracking software / programs (i.e. Corridor, Pentagon, CAMP or similar military type applications) is preferred.
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant License preferred
• Experience shall be in a similar position within the last twelve (12) months; shall possess a working knowledge of the applicable Federal Aviation Administration's Regulations (FAR) and its application to aircraft support and maintenance events.

The employee works in an office type environment the majority of the time sitting, typing, using a computer terminal, conducting business on the phone. Employee at times may be required to evaluate aircraft maintenance requirements by surveying aircraft in hangar and shop areas which may require employee to stand; walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may be required to reach with hands and arms as well as push and pull items. The employee must able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly.

Normal day to day working conditions are inside an environmentally controlled office occasionally evaluating an aircraft in a hangar with good ventilation and air flow. Work may be required in outside weather conditions where employee will be exposed to all types of environmental conditions and extremes such as hot, cold, rain, wind, etc.

While performing duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock. The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment including eye protection, ear protection, and other required equipment anytime the potential for hazards exist. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal to moderate.
