Overview

The Senior Director of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) is responsible for supporting and sustaining the mission and vision of the Department of Patient Care Services, providing leadership for advanced practice and assuring healthy work environments. The Senior Director of APPs leads collaborative efforts with inter-professional teams to achieve the organizations strategic priorities and improve patient care safety and quality. The Senior Director of APPs is responsible for financial, personnel, and supply resource management and empowers others to improve processes based on patient/family needs, evidence for practice, and prudent resource management.

Responsibilities

    Supports the mission and vision of Children's Mercy, providing operational oversight and leadership support to plan, direct, monitor, communicate, and evaluate all clinical operations of advanced practice providers.
  • Leads collaborative efforts with inter-professional teams to achieve APP and CM's strategic priorities.
  • Develops effective leadership teams in all clinical areas for APPs and partners with physician and business leaders inside and outside to measure, assess and evaluate patient care, safety, quality, and stewardship.
  • Responsible for financial, personnel, and supply resource management, and empowers others to improve processes to ensure effective, safe, cost-efficient, patient centered.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree BSN required
  • Master's Degree required and 7 or more years experience Evidenced ability in progressive organization and practice leadership. A master's degree in nursing may be accepted in lieu of a BSN. or
  • Doctorate in Nursing Practice or PhD (preferred)
  • Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire
  • Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire
  • RN Compact license for all states besides KS and MO
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner Missouri, Licensed Clinical Nurse Specialist MO, Certified Nurse Midwife Missouri required upon hire
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner Kansas, Licensed Clinical Nurse Specialist KS, Certified Nurse Midwife Kansas required upon hire
  • Successful completion of national board certification in one of the following: Certified Nurse Midwife OR Required Upon Hire
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) MO & KS OR Required Upon Hire
  • Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist MO & KS Required Upon Hire
  • APRN board certification congruent with population and practice setting (See policy statement: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Roles and Practice Setting) Required Upon Hire
  • Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provide Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire
