CTL Student Learning Assistance is a program available to UNM students enrolled in undergraduate classes. Our mission is to enrich the academic climate at UNM and create lifelong learners. Math 1215 Learning Assistants provide support to students enrolled Math 1215 classes. MLAs are more advanced math learners who are familiar with the Math taught in Math 1215 and have learned the best way to support math learners. As a member of the CTL team, employees attend training throughout the semester that is focused on content designed to make them effective facilitators of student learning. Online Learning Assistant Job Description: * Work directly with the instructor of the course to provide customized support for students. * Facilitates student learning by helping students understand their learning process, redirecting questions, and modeling metacognitive strategies * Helps students develop transferable academic skills and best practices for success in foundational math courses. * Creates a welcoming and inclusive environment * Plans/conducts learning sessions at the request of the instructor. * Understands and provides guidance in navigating foundational math courses. * Participates in CTL training program/professional development opportunities CTL Math Learning Assistants seeks applicants that are: * Compassionate * Empathetic * Intentional * Adaptable * Attentive to Detail * Encouraging * Strengths-based Minimum Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Application Instructions Only applications submitted through IMPORTANT: Within a few days after you apply in UNMJobs, our staff will email you a post-application questionnaire.
