Job Description
Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Assistant Golf Course Mechanic for the beautiful Barton Creek Country Club! Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of gasoline- and diesel-powered golf course equipment, including mowers, tractors, and utility vehicles.
- Assist in the development and implementation of a preventative maintenance program to ensure optimal performance and extend equipment lifespan.
- Inspect, identify, and resolve mechanical issues related to engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Maintain accurate service logs and use basic computer systems to track maintenance activities and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Prepare and inspect all maintenance equipment daily to ensure it is fueled, lubricated, and ready for immediate operational use.
- Modify, adjust, or set up new and existing equipment to meet the specific needs of golf course operations.
- Safely handle, recycle, and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with all environmental and safety guidelines.
- Apply welding and light fabrication skills for equipment repair and modifications as needed.
- Operate various types of turf maintenance equipment to aid in diagnostics and repairs when necessary.
- Collaborate closely with the Equipment Manager and grounds team, attending required training sessions and departmental meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall maintenance operations
Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of mechanical experience
- Ability to work in diverse weather conditions while performing equipment repairs.
- Proficiency in welding and fabrication.
- Understanding of engine mechanics (gas and diesel)
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Equipment operation experience (mowers, tractors, utility vehicles)
- Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking
- Familiarity with the game of golf and maintenance schedules
- Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push, or pull items of moderate to heavy weight without assistance.
- Frequent walking, standing, climbing, bending, reaching, squatting, and kneeling.
- Capacity to perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
Working Environment:
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Proximity to golfers and active play areas.
- Exposure to potentially hazardous machinery and equipment.
