Job Title: Aircraft Assembly/ Burrer / Machining Specialist

Duration: Direct Hire

Location: 12838 Saticoy Street North Hollywood, CA 91605

Shift: 1st

Salary: $34/hr. - $37/hr. on w2 with full benefits

Job Description:

  • Assemble production mechanical, electrical units and associated assemblies.
  • May perform miscellaneous related duties.


Essential Functions:

  • Every effort has been made to identify the essential functions of this position. However, it in no way states or implies that these are the only duties you will be required to perform.   • Determine types and shapes of burring tools needed for special, unusual, or new jobs, and grind or sharpen these or have them made.
  • Devise and charge special laps for intricate and fine hand lapping.
  • Perform such fine and delicate work as internal burring of machined bodies, burring the more expensive and intricate parts, salvaging of reworkable parts, and straightening mating components.
  • Perform with efficiency any work of a Burrer, Precision.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED,
  • Knowledge of shop mathematics and 5 + years' experience in aerospace industry.
  • Combination of the above, and 5 + years' experience in aerospace industry.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, qualifications, competencies, abilities and any physical demands if required.
  • Ability to read complex blueprints. Layout and determine tooling needed and to plan internal and external burring sequences.
  • Ability to judge micro-finishes.
  • Materials worked on: Parts and components made from ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, electrical wires, shafts, safety spring wires, cylinders, housings, armature pins, electrical conductors, etc
  • Materials worked with: Solder, solvent, lubricants and grease, insulation tape, varnish, etc.
  • Equipment used: Drill presses, voltage and resistance equipment, coil winders, automatic tig welder, presses and lathe. All preset.
  • Tools used: General hand tools associated with this type of assembly.
