Position Summary: The Permit Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the process of applying for, acquiring and tracking permits for engineering projects. They interface with designers and project managers to ensure projects meet local requirements and work with clients, contractors and permitting officials to guide projects through the process of applying for, acquiring, and closing out permits.

Permit Coordination:



  • Contacts local authorities to determine the requirements and process for obtaining permits.
  • Coordinates with designers and project managers to ensure projects are defined to meet local requirements.
  • Works with clients to obtain necessary information for permitting submissions and keeps clients informed of estimated timelines for the permitting process.
  • Prepares and submits permit documents.
  • Ensures timelines are met for permit submission and tracks applications through approval.
  • Interfaces with designers, project managers and clients to resolve issues that arise during the review process to keep projects on track toward permitting.


Project Coordination:



  • Assists the project team with specifications and construction RFIs and submittals.
  • Schedules appointments for service testing and contacts city officials and utility companies as needed


Administrative Support:



  • Tracks projects from inception to closeout.
  • Assists the project/program manager with administrative aspects of projects as needed.



Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must be flexible and patient and an effective collaborator.
  • Detail oriented and adheres to established guidelines and instructions.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve, managing tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in all core competencies as described and characterized in this job description.
