Overview

General Dynamics Electric Boat, the nation's premier designer and builder in nuclear submarines, is seeking a Supervisor of Warehousing for the Electric Boat Focus Factories.

This position is located at Austal USA in Mobile, AL with regular travel to Rhodes Industries in Philadelphia, PA.

The Supervisor of Warehousing primary responsibilities are, but not limited to; overseeing material control and warehouse functions for the Electric Boat Focus Factories.

  • Will be responsible to travel to multiple focus factory locations including Austal in Mobile, AL, and Rhodes in Philadelphia, PA.
  • Will be responsible for the supervision of salary personnel over-site of vendor support
  • Will be responsible for daily operations
  • Will be responsible to promote safe work practices
  • Must be familiar with a variety of standard concepts, practices and procedures, and company policies. Relies on metrics that measure incoming and outgoing demands, along with experience and judgment to plan and accomplish department/organizational goals
  • Must be able to work with Electric Boat operating systems
  • Responsible for processing incoming material from vendor and off sites
  • Responsible for developing and implementing short and long term inventory and material goals/plans
  • Independent creativity and latitude is expected
  • Promote and actively support Electric Boat Quonset Point Process Improvement System and attain facility departmental goals
  • Must be able to work with the Electric Boat Quonset Point Process Improvement Team and define and eliminate waste to reduce the cost of material handling
  • Must also be able to document the process and provide training to the team members
  • Must understand EB Inventory Tracking system
  • Must be able to manage functions that include warehouse, and material distribution areas
  • Will be required to actively engage with Focus Factory Site Management and Planning


Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 3+ years of supply-chain experience to include the technical processes of warehousing & buffer storage
  • 3+ years of leadership experience
  • Must be willing to travel to all sites
  • Must be available to work all shifts, including extended hours and weekends as business needs dictate
  • Must be very well versed in warehousing and business systems
  • Must be flexible and able to work in all warehouse areas
  • Ability to understand and be able to learn Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the department of defense

Preferred:

  • College degree
  • Experience in MRP/EWP/Power BI
