Electric Boat (EB) is growing its Digital Enterprise that was implemented in support of the COLUMBIA and VIRGINIA Programs. EB's Digital Enterprise is the set of digital tools, processes and procedures which utilizes, but is not limited to, Siemens Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management and NX CAD for the design, planning, material procurement, construction, certification, and maintenance of our submarines. EB is now investing in defining, refining, and executing its future strategy to further enhance and transform its Digital Enterprise in support of future submarine programs like SSN(X), and maintain our position of being an industry leader in Digital for shipbuilding.

The Digital Enterprise (DE) Program Office is searching for a highly-motivated problem solver, with a passion for innovation and project management, as a Digital Enterprise Future Strategy Program Represenative. This position will be a part of the team managing Electric Boat's (EB) future programs digital initiatives. Collaboration with Huntington Ingalls Industries - Newport News Shipbuilding (HII-NNS) is expected. The primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

    Managing execution of future programs digital milestones and key decisions
  • Developing, budgeting, and maintaining project plans
  • Leading and managing DE Plan of Action and Milestones (POAMs) to completion including directing EB and NNS stakeholder actions
  • Developing and maintaining metrics, diagrams, etc. in support of program needs
  • Drive innovation into the EB culture & work processes
  • Develop and deliver presentations to upper level management, customers, and business partners
  • Prepare written requests for multi-departmental program funding both within EB and with external customers to include HII-NNS and the Navy
  • Identify points of contact within the business to act as leads and owners for the research, development, implementation, and maintenance of digital initiatives
  • Interface with the Information Technology (IT) organization, cognizant business areas, and external business partners and customers to drive initiatives forward

The ideal candidate has experience in project management and is seeking an opportunity to steer the future program's digital direction; formal calculations are not a primary responsibility in this position. They will also have a high-level understanding of design/build/sustainment processes and be able to think strategically while acting tactically to execute multiple projects concurrently. The candidate will be customer-focused and must have strong problem solving skills, good writing/presentation skills, organizational skills, and be able to clearly communicate with all levels of the organization within Electric Boat and our external partners and customers, including Newport News Shipbuilding and the Navy. The successful applicant should be a self-starter, who takes initiative and will drive issues to resolution.

Electric Boat offers Flexible Work Arrangements that allows some work to be performed remotely at home. This varies from position to position based on the amount of classified material the department interacts with a well as a few other variables like in-person meetings. Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in Digital Engineering, IT,Program Office, Process Improvement or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Project Management.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the Department of Defense.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with multiple program offices with competing priorities.
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in engineering
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams with schedule deadlines and technical product deliverables.
  • Experience providing waterfront engineering support to construction or fleet maintenance activities.
  • Understanding of resource-based scheduling and planning tools.
  • Experience in technical writing and presentations.
  • Experience with design and engineering, planning, material procurement, construction, certification, and/or maintenance processes.
  • Experience working with Teamcenter, NX, Active Workspace, or other CAD and lifecycle management software.


Skills

  • Detail oriented with computer software experience and possesses strong communication, technical, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint.
  • Self-starter capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
