Summary

The Head of Process and Equipment Engineering is responsible for leading a team of process engineers and equipment engineers responsible for the design of the new Chobani $1.2 billion greenfield site in Rome, NY. This role will be focused on the design of the process systems, filling & packaging operations, and utilities systems of the facility. The position requires a high degree of technical knowledge of dairy process systems and equipment, responsibility, highly effective communication skills, leadership, decision making ability and self-sufficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the team of process and equipment subject matter expert responsible for the design of the process systems, fill & packaging operations, and utility systems.
  • Define and develop all aspects of dairy processing and fill & packaging equipment used in manufacturing of Greek yogurt and other dairy products.
  • Update and modify various drawings, including P&IDs, Equipment Specifications, and Process Flow Diagrams.
  • Participate in all phases of a project from initial team meetings though pre-award support, proposal generation, installation, commissioning and start up as partner to the Project Engineers.
  • Specify processing and fill & packaging equipment which meet project expectations within the time and budget constraints of the approved project.
  • Provide guidance and expertise to plant operations, project engineers and other functions as necessary in the development of process and packaging related operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical engineering preferred, other engineering degrees considered
  • 8-10 years of experience in a similar dairy process and equipment engineering role
  • Experience in processing equipment and materials as related to the food and beverage industry
  • Preferred experience in dairy processing processes, including pasteurization, separation, etc.
  • Working knowledge of project life cycle deliverables, contract & schedule
  • Knowledge in sizing pumps, piping, and other general dairy processing equipment
  • Occasional travel to equipment suppliers and other Chobani sites is required.
  • May be required to work in a site environment in the presence of heavy equipment, smoke, dust and noise
  • Proficient in the use Microsoft Office software, Microsoft Project, SEEQ, CAPE or TOPS, and AutoCAD
  • Pro-activity, personal drive, decisiveness, commercial / business acumen, communication skills, excellent teamwork skills, organizational competency, and the ability to prioritize

Compensation Range:$194,000.00-$290,000.00, plus bonus.
