Operations Manager - Southwest Die Cast
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing material inventory to ensure efficient production processes. You will analyze demand forecasts, coordinate with suppliers, and collaborate with various departments to maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing costs. You will be responsible for the supply chain and shipping department employees over a three shift operation. The work model for the role is: Onsite #LI-Onsite You will be mainly accountable for: *Analyze production schedules and demand forecasts to determine material requirements while developing and maintaining inventory management strategies to ensure adequate stock levels and minimize excess inventory. *Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely acquisition and delivery of materials while monitoring and managing inventory turnover to identify opportunities for improvement. *Utilize ERP systems to track inventory levels, manage orders, and generate reports on material usage in order to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams to resolve material-related issues and ensure smooth operations *Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material planning processes and plan and communicate the plant's daily production to ensure customer demands are met.
Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor's Degree with minimum 2 years experience OR Associate's Degree with minimum 4 years experience OR High School Diploma with minimum 6 years experience and minimum1 years of experience in material planning, inventory management, or a similar role within a manufacturing or supply chain environment. - (Bachelor's preferred)
- Preferred Experience Includes:
- Proficiency in material planning software and ERP systems, SAP
- Advanced Excel skills using pivot tables, V-Lookups, Macros
- Lean Six Sigma, PMP, APICS - Certifications
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
