Description

Operate Amada precision CNC press brakes and support the production team by assembling parts, operating machinery, bending and kitting metal products as instructed by supervisor.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Operate the CNC press brake and other machinery used in the sheet metal department or assist other machine operators.
  • Select and set up tooling based on material type and thickness, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment.
  • Knowledge about bend deductions and corrections.
  • Operate the Spot-Welding machine.
  • Load and Unload the Laser operators.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with fast changing priorities.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
  • Follow all company rules and policies.
  • Follow all safety rules and quality standards.
  • Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Assemble items as instructed by shift leader or floor supervisor.
  • Prepare product for shipment.
  • Lift raw materials, final products, and items prepped for shipment, manually, or using overhead crane and forklift.
  • Operate machinery used in the production process or assist machine operators.
  • Uphold all ISO and OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities above.


NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment by actively participating in company safety programs.
  • Comply with all aspects of the corporate environmental, health and safety program


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS



  • 2+ years of experience on Trumpf, Amada or similar CNC press brake/bending machines.
  • Solid background working with sheet metal.
  • Knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance.
  • Proven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills.
  • Familiar with protractors, angle measurement devices, calipers and micrometers.
  • Ability to distinguish material types including Steel, A36, SSAB, Grade50, Stainless Steel and other types of metals.
  • Flexible schedule is required; is required; this position requires shift work as well as overtime and weekend work.
  • Candidate has to be a strong team player.
  • Candidate has to be reliable.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIP



  • Sheet Metal Supervisor


ADDITIONAL SKILLS (PREFERRED)



  • Knowledge of manufacturing concepts.
  • Ability to grasp modern technology quickly.
  • Must be a good communicator.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Enthusiastic, cooperative, and positive behavior.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Knowledge of lifting techniques.
  • Ability to lift heavy items.


WORK SCHEDULE



  • 4/10 - Monday - Thursday 6:00am-5:00pm


PAY RANGE



  • $25.00-$28.00/HR


EDUCATION

High School Diploma or GED

AA Degree in Technical Engineering or Vocational schooling a plus.

MENTAL



  • Ability to accept and follow instructions.
