Your seat at the table: Director of Human Resources

You will love this seat if you get, want, and have the capacity to:

  • LMA (Lead, Manage and Drive Accountability)

    • Manage, lead and develop the HR team to ensure HR strategy, programs and processes support a performance-based culture emphasizing continuous improvement, team-work and individual/team accountability.
    • Act as a business partner with senior leaders to develop and execute human resources initiatives that support business strategy and objectives.
    • Establish and maintain HR metrics to make data driven decisions and improvements to HR programs and processes.
    • Direct and support activities for risk management (health and safety) of all employees.
    • Support the planning and execution of companywide labor relations policies and practices including labor negotiations, grievances, mediation and arbitration.


  • People Capital Process

    • Provide guidance and support to managers to identify, evaluate, and resolve employee relations, employee morale, work performance, and organizational productivity concerns.
    • Direct and support processes and communications related to employment (i.e. hire, promotion, transfer) to ensure smooth transitions for all affected.
    • Ensure HR programs, processes and policies comply with all federal, state and local laws and guidelines.
    • Support the HR team and hiring managers to select, interview, and hire candidates.
    • Ensure onboarding process and new employee orientation set employees up for success to ensure understanding of company business operations and are able to quickly make an impact in their position.


  • Salary Administration & HRIS

    • Oversee the structure and process for an effective salary administration system and compensation plan to support organizational goals.
    • Ensures Human Resources Information System (HRIS) is implemented, provides efficiencies to HR processes and properly maintained to meet privacy and data laws.


  • Talent Succession & Planning

    • Ensure training and development programs meet the needs of the organization to increase employee performance. Develop a strategy for organizational development to meet company growth, improve turnover, and ensure succession plans in key positions.


  • Benefits & Rewards Oversight

    • Oversee the development and implementation of the employee benefit strategy that supports the company's goals and values.





We need this seat to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Human Resources or equivalent experience is required. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive Human Resources experience. Manufacturing environment and International experience is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of people managing experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of labor relations and union negotiations.
  • Requires high tolerance for ambiguity, good judgment, strong work ethic and sense of urgency.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities, follow through on commitments and manage time effectively.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, both written and verbal form, at all levels of the organization.
  • Has solid business acumen and pragmatism and effectively balances business issues with employee advocacy.
  • Possesses strong emotional intelligence and empathy to navigate delicate employee situations that demonstrate the company values.
  • Possesses high integrity, trustworthiness, self-confidence, and self-awareness.
  • Requires advance knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and HRIS applications. Experience with Paylocity HRIS is a plus.
  • Human Resources certification, i.e. Professional in Human Resources or SHRM-Certified Professional is required or able to obtain after hire
