Overview (Scope of Role)

The Product and Marketing Manager (PMM) - Copolymers (North America) leads the Regional BMT through managing the product portfolio, asset strategy & profitability and leading marketing initiatives.



Responsibilities

The job is a critical business leadership role within the Polymer Solutions Business in NAA. It owns the P&L of Copolymers NAA by driving the profitability, pricing strategy, margin performance, marketing strategy and owns the demand forecast. Chairs the Copolymers NAA BMT and acts as the cross-functional leader who aligns Supply Chain, Finance, Sales and Operations to deliver on business targets, execute the commercial strategy, asset strategies, marketing initiatives, new project development and sustainability initiatives:

    Contributes to the Polymer Solutions strategy development and is responsible for its implementation in NAA. Develops regional marketing tactics to ensure goals stated in the Polymer Solutions business strategy are met
  • Has full accountability to drive EBITDA, use of investment funds and working capital management of the business
  • The PMM chairs the cross-functional NAA Copolymers BMT which is instrumental to serve the Automotive and Industrial markets for ABS
  • Accountable for product management of ABS Trade Products, product mix health (cost of complexity) and profitability, price guidelines to direct customers and distribution
  • Accountable for the contract manufacturing agreement (CMA) in Midland, MI and relationship management
  • The PMM is responsible to assure supply security, quality levels, commercial and operational ruling (adders and Business Service Standards)
  • Selects and sponsors the initiatives associated to the strategy, including Capital projects
  • Captures and monitors Industry and Market trends and develops strategic external relationships (customers, suppliers, industry stakeholders) to further improve Industry Mastery
  • The PMM is accountable for the development and implementation of the Marketing Plan in NAA to maximize profitability and drive growth opportunities in Copolymers markets
  • The PMM will drive the organization to identify and address new opportunities in Industrial Markets to help achieving a profitable and sold-out position of the Midland, MI Copolymers production assets
  • The PMM works with Marcomm to promote MAGNUM's value proposition and generate leads
  • The PMM is the Commercial Project Lead for new product development projects
  • Supports the implementation of the Sustainability Roadmap for Polymer Solutions in NAA
  • Supports the VP and Global Product and Marketing Director to develop a vision, strategy and drive a culture of Business Excellence in Polymer Solutions, inspires commitment and PA2CE behavior


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably in engineering, chemicals)
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management and Marketing experience in manufacturing with exposure to Finance (controlling), Supply Chain strategy and operations
  • Plastics & Chemical manufacturing industry experience preferred
  • Excellent business acumen, commercial and leadership skills.
  • Good understanding of the financials, especially P&L, cash flow, working capital, business/investment cases
  • Solid understanding of operations (manufacturing, supply chain, etc...)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. Structured thinker, ability to take decisions and solve problems
