Reality Capture Technician

We are looking to add a Reality Capture technician who will help foster our mission that All People Should Live in Safe, Sustainable and Beautiful Communities!

What You Will Be Doing:

• Provide technical production that involves developing topographic data from aerial photogrammetry, LiDAR and UAV-based sources
• Collects/formats data from source materials utilizing photogrammetry or LiDAR software to produce digital mapping and virtual surveying products
• Perform classification, feature extraction, mapping from LiDAR point cloud, manually edits, create and runs filtering macros, and has the experience to assist in the final QA/QC of data deliverables
• Performs coverage verification, orthomosaic stitching and adjustments using ground control targets for photogrammetry deliverables
• Collaborates with both internal and external users of captured data to ensure appropriate application and to improve the data delivery process
• Applies coordinate translations and transformations for localization of data products and performs matching with existing terrestrially surveyed data
• Compile Digital Terrain Model (DTM), Digital Elevation Model (DEM) and Digital Surface Model (DSM) data from photogrammetry or LiDAR captures
• Seek professional development opportunities to expand knowledge in the industry, i.e. workshops, conferences, webinars, and certification
• Research previous maps, captures, and other records to obtain data needed for the project
• Analyzes, organizes, and prepares data and reports and maps
• Ability to understand aerial maps and point clouds with precision and accuracy
• Travel to facilities and other projected related locations as necessary

What We Are Looking For:

• Degree in Surveying, Geography, GIS or equivalent from an accredited college
• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification, or ability to obtain within 3 months
• ASPRS LiDAR or Photogrammetry Certification Preferred
• Effective interpersonal written & verbal communication skills
• Strong time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Skilled knowledge and skills in AutoCAD or Microstation
• Developing knowledge of data analytics, advanced data visualization techniques and Big Data
• Possess a valid driver's license as travel to various facilities and job sites may be required

Salary Range: $45,000 - $75,000 depending on years of experience and credentials
