ITQ Technologist - Consumer Experience Team - Food Preparedness - Golden Valley, MN

OVERVIEW

This Technologist role will be part of the Integrated Operations Consumer Experience Team (CET), supporting the preparation of food samples and other related tasks to meet the business needs of our ITQ customers. The individual in this role will be accountable for all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the tech services food preparation lab.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Accountable for all aspects of the day-to-day operation of a food preparation lab
• Execute sample preparation by meticulously following established methods for all product evaluations and reviews: stability, sensory, plant production, gold standard, business, etc.
• Conduct physical measurements of samples
• Document, review, and analyze results, as necessary
• Investigate any technical discrepancies or provide troubleshooting
• Responsible for general lab upkeep, including equipment calibration and maintenance, ingredient inventory, housekeeping, etc.
• Provide service excellence and reliable lab operations across all business offerings
• Develop technical knowledge and critical thinking skills around food preparation, ingredient measurements, food performance, equipment output, and data analysis
• Demonstrate agility by supporting all types of cross-functional needs as the ITQ business dictates
• Lead with safety and follow good laboratory practices in the execution of all work

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Degree or Associate Degree with 2+ years of work experience in baking and food preparation, demonstrated proficiency in a lab setting, and a passion for baking and cooking.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills, independent decision making, strong attention to detail, and service orientation are essential
• Critical thinking and technical skills to meet the demands of day-to-day operations, problem solve, experiment, and make data-based recommendations
• Skillfully handle multiple tasks, projects, and priorities with minimal guidance or direction
• Comfortable with food preparation and have skills in these areas: baking and cooking, weighing and measuring, using kitchen or retail appliances, following written preparation directions, etc
• Willingness to complete basic, routine, and repetitive tasks to meet business requests
• Must have computer application knowledge.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor Degree in Food Science or any degree related to the food industry
• Computer skills and proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, LIMS, or the ability to learn one of the above applications
