An exciting opportunity exists at Barnes for a Strategic Pricing Specialist. If you are a talented, self-driven and high - energy individual ready to serve as a member of the Strategic Pricing team for FMC, this position is for you. The Strategic Pricing Specialist is responsible for preparing customer quotes and analyzing market conditions including global economic factors, competitor offering, and market value to determine pricing recommendations of individual product lines utilizing the established pricing strategy. This role will also manage the accuracy of global price lists within our ERP systems and be responsible for uploading new pricing as needed.

Core Responsibilities:



  • Prepare and generate detailed and accurate quotations based on customer requirements and specifications.
  • Analyze costs, pricing, and market trends to ensure competitive and profitable quotations.
  • Collaborate with the sales, procurement, and technical teams to gather necessary information and insights for quotations.
  • Review and interpret customer requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for quotations (RFQs), and other documentation to develop comprehensive quotations.
  • Maintain a database of quotation records (Salesforce), including historical data and pricing trends.
  • Ensure all quotations comply with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements.
  • Monitor and report on quotation success rates and provide feedback to improve processes and strategies.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quotation processes and efficiency.
  • Manage and distribute incoming customer requests to the Sales Team.
  • Build pricing recommendations consistent with category pricing strategy
  • Maintain regional product/market pricing files for global business
  • Implement a review schedule for catalog product price lists
  • Analyze product line profitability by region, market, and product
  • Monitor trends in commodities that have an impact on our portfolio
  • Identify market share of targeted product lines
  • Establish and maintain win-loss analysis for the Nitrogen Gas Springs business
  • Establish and communicate rules related to usage of pricing lists
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management to support brand catalog profitable growth.
  • In alignment with the Company Core Values and Code of Business Conduct, effectively working with stakeholders and peers.


Qualifications:



  • Minimum of 5 years in pricing, marketing, Customer Service, process engineering, or other relevant business positions within an industrial B2B environment.


  • Minimum Three years of progressive experience in marketing analytics; catalog/list pricing preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills. Need to have the ability to make recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Strong PC aptitude in a Windows environment required; specifically, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Power Point).
  • Experience successfully managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment


  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and maintain a detail-oriented, structured approach to achieving planned outcomes.
  • Awareness of technological advancements and willingness to learn new tools and processes.
  • Solid verbal/written communication skills.


  • Must demonstrate an ability to work independently and set a plan of work
  • Basic understanding of contracts, and terms and conditions commonly used in business
  • Must demonstrate ability to be detailed and project oriented to meet a planned outcome
  • JBA experience preferred
  • Prior experience with pricing software, preferred


Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Analytics, Marketing, Engineering or a related field and experience.
  • Advanced degree preferred
