Job Description:

Oversees the development, promotion, and implementation of study abroad programs in Costa Rica. Focuses on community-based learning, environmental sustainability, intercultural exchange, and accessible education abroad. Builds strong partnerships with Costa Rican institutions, supports students from recruitment through reentry, and collaborates closely with faculty to advance experiential learning goals.

Supports the strategic and daily operations of Trinity University's Center for International Engagement summer study abroad program in Costa Rica. Entails daily oversight of the program in Costa Rica, which includes, but is not limited to: supporting student health and safety, assisting faculty leaders while in Costa Rica, monitoring student behavior, and coordinating administrative tasks as needed. Acts as the primary liaison between Trinity University and The Monteverde Institute.
  • Coordinates the Costa Rican Ecology summer program from May 26 to June 26, 2025.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for the program between CIE Staff and the MVI.
  • Oversees the daily operations of the program.
  • Assists in the on-site orientation while in Costa Rica.
  • Maintains accurate financial records for reporting purposes.
  • Advises students on travel, cultural expectations, and housing arrangements in Costa Rica as needed.
  • Facilitates pre-departure orientations as needed.
  • Provides health and safety support for students abroad, including emergencies.
  • Assists program faculty with academic and cultural planning.
  • Monitors travel advisories, coordinate emergency response protocols, and liaise with Trinity University Risk Management and the CIE Staff.
  • Ensures compliance with institutional policies and federal guidelines for international travel.
