Under the leadership of Academic Affairs and the Director of Atwood Innovation Plaza, this position supports the business communities in Southern Utah through all stages of business growth, utilizing the resources of the University's BRC and the EDA grant. This position is partially funded through the EDA grant through a five-year grant cycle; thus, continued employment is contingent upon grant funding. Responsibilities

UT Targeted Outreach (25% of workload, funding through EDA Grant)
- Provide support for the FRUW UT Targeted Outreach Coordinator.
- Collect, manage, and report program data.
- Collaborate with Utah DWS to track regional cluster-specific data to inform program development.
- Document and publish FRUW standards.
UT Business Resource Center Manager and AIP Staff (75% of workload)
- Meet with small and medium-sized businesses in Washington and Kane Counties to consult on start-up and growth strategies.
- Assist companies in preparing proforma financial statements and other pitch materials for storyboards and pitch events.
- Assist clients in ideation, market validation, business model development, go-to-market strategies, and commercialization plans for new products and services.
- Write grant applications in an attempt to increase program funding.
- Maintain client lists and manage regular communication with clients in rural areas of Washington and Kane Counties.
- Manage special projects and perform other duties as assigned at Atwood Innovation Plaza.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
-
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, marketing, business, or similar degree required; master's degree preferred.
- At least two years of program management experience is required; experience consulting with startups and small businesses, particularly those in rural areas of Utah, is preferred.
- Background in starting and exiting multi-million dollar start-ups and companies required.
- Experience working with local economic governmental organizations preferred (i.e. Chamber of Commerce, Business Resource Center, Association of Governments, etc.).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, advanced knowledge in Excel and data management platforms preferred.
- Ability to think strategically and work independently, with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently, including events and marketing within budget constraints.
- Evidence and experience in organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; able to establish and maintain positive working relationships throughout the community.

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Full-time overtime-exempt staff position. Annual salary of $60,000-$65,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Desired start date of June/July 2025.
