Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Lab Assistant, where you'll leverage your surgical technology expertise to manage students' laboratory training under the direct supervision of the Program Director.

In the realm of Student Success, the role involves providing assistance to students during their laboratory experience, ensuring alignment with all curriculum requirements. Additionally, the role supports the Program Director with managing student files, surveys, schedules, and tracking required hours. In terms of Laboratory Management, the responsibilities include overseeing the organization of the laboratory, ensuring adherence to safe procedures, and attending assigned safety training sessions.

An ideal candidate will have an associate degree from an accredited college or university in Applied Science - Veterinary Technology, along with an LVT credential. Fear Free Level I Certification is preferred. Experience with large animals is preferred, and two years of clinical experience is required. Candidates should be familiar with the competency and essential skills requirements of the accrediting body (CVTEA) and have experience running in-house chemistry and hematology machines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps, and Avimark veterinary software is essential. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform proper techniques associated with veterinary technology, including restraint, venipuncture, surgical assistance, nomenclature, anesthesia, hematology, diagnostic techniques, radiography, dental prophylaxis, and other related duties.
