Job Description:

The Purchasing Manager will oversee the activities of the Procurement Department ensuring materials are procured at lowest costs through establishment of procurement agreements. Actively participate in negotiated pricing contracts to reduce overall costs of goods. Supervise the training and development of procurement personnel in alternative procurement options and methodologies.

1. Actively participate and lead strategic sourcing initiatives within Jubilant HollisterStier.
2. Negotiate long term purchasing agreements with critical suppliers
3. Work closely with Business Development and Project Management groups to understand customer requirements and assist in providing solutions to specialized customer requests.
4. Oversee assigned personnel's efforts in planning and conducting vendor negotiations to achieve cost reductions, provide adequate supplies and secure unique materials.
5. Develop relationships with potential new suppliers and manufacturers to identify alternate sources of supply.
6. Manage staff so as to effectively recruit, train, evaluate, motivate, delegate and monitor their activities to include improving margins and increasing efficiencies
7. Work with IT to develop processes that will improve efficiencies.
8. Train and develop assigned personnel in the use of good buying techniques and value analysis to maximize use of corporate funds.
9. Establish and maintain effective departmental budgetary control.
10. Regulate work load of purchasing personnel to provide an equitable distribution within the department.
11. Implement appropriate changes in the staffing of the department as company needs grow to provide for efficient and effective procurement.
12. Assume responsibility for any other work as assigned by the Director of Supply Chain.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field required.
• Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) required.
• Minimum 2-5 years of related experience required.
• 5-10 years of related experience preferred.
• Microsoft Office, SAP and ERP operating systems required.
• FDA Regulated industry experience required.
• Pharmaceutical experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience required.
• Direct department management experience preferred.
• Ability to manage conflict & influence outcomes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across departments.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs.

Compensation & Benefits:

This is an on-site, full-time position located in Spokane, WA.

• The salary range for this position is $77,969 - $129,300 depending on experience.
  • Midpoint and above is reserved for employees who have longevity with Jubilant HollisterStier and consistently exhibit outstanding performance over a period of time in the role.
