PURPOSE:

The Video Specialist at Mall of America is responsible for capturing, editing and producing videos/audio for internal and external purposes. You will work across multiple teams, collaborating and creating a variety of content for all channels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Work with Creative Director and team to plan, shoot and edit video content.
  • Create storyboards and shot lists.
  • Capture studio-quality video and sound for various channels (broadcast, streaming video, social media, b-roll, podcast, digital signage and more).
  • Operate cameras, lighting and audio equipment during live or studio shoots
  • Manage all aspects of video recording and post-production/editing, including color correction, audio mixing, graphics and subtitles.
  • Cut, edit and add visual effects (graphics, transitions, etc.)
  • Stay on top of video trends, platform best practices and emerging tech (including AI tools).
  • Offer innovative solutions from industry examples and experience.
  • Maintain and organize video files, backups and media libraries
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of MOA brand identity.
  • Collaborate with podcast team on filming needs.
  • Prioritize workload and time management.
  • Work quickly, often completing jobs within very tight deadlines.
  • Work both on and off-site as needed.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



  • Bachelor's degree in Film Production or equivalent work experience
  • 2-3 years professional video producing and editing experience.
  • Thorough understanding of and ability to use basic video production equipment.
  • Motion graphics and animation expertise
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop) or similar tools
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong storytelling skills with an eye for composition, pacing and visual detail
  • Knowledge of social media formats, aspect ratios and content strategies


  • Knowledge of lighting, staging, audio and other production considerations to ensure content quality.


  • Thorough understanding of artistic styles, techniques, methodologies and effects used within video production.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with creative team members, including other designers, writers and developers.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate creative thinking and strategy.
  • Demonstrate ability to work well with internal and external partners.
  • Knowledge of different marketing channels and best practices.
  • Openness to receiving and interpreting feedback.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and with time constraints.


  • Drone certification or experience, preferred
  • Background in marketing, branding, or digital content, preferred

STARTING PAY:

$43,888 - $54,337
