Senior Actuarial Consultant (Capital Modeling Technology, STG)

Location: Remote

Aon's Strategy and Technology Group (STG) are seeking a senior actuarial consultant to join their technology team and help to accelerate the development of their risk and capital modeling software suite. STG is Aon's global consulting and technology business focused on, but not limited to, insurance and reinsurance companies and other participants in the insurance industry.

What the day will look like

This role is for an individual with an actuarial background who wants their coding skills to be at the forefront of their daily activities. The successful candidate will have strong technical skills, enjoy product development, and collaborate with both clients and team members on bespoke model builds. In addition, they would possess exceptional communication skills and have a capital modeling background.

We have a strong team of exceptional developers, and our IT team offer fully hosted solutions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work in a multidisciplinary team to design, implement, and review capital modeling solutions for (re)insurers and lead the development work on new initiatives.
  • Liaise with clients to gather business requirements on bespoke model builds and perform development tasks as the technical leader.
  • Deliver demos and support prospecting through trials.
  • Assist in on-boarding new clients and implementation projects (working with the P&C Actuarial Consulting team and the Platform Delivery team).
  • Collaborate with other team members world-wide and mentor junior team members.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ year of actuarial P&C insurance experience
  • 2+ years of P&C risk and/or capital modeling experience
  • 2+ years of experience coding (Python, SQL desirable) and developing modeling solutions
  • Technical knowledge of capital modeling techniques (minimum of 2 years)
  • A bachelor's degree in mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science or a similar field

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Knowledge of rating agency and/or regulatory capital modeling framework(s)
  • Knowledge of stochastic financial modeling software
  • Experience leading and managing development projects and/or teams
  • A strong communicator, who is good at building relationships
  • An independent, self-motivated individual that works collaboratively within a team and is adaptable in times of change

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $125k-$150k annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
