Description
Join Our Mission The GED Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering lesson plans on various subjects included in the GED test. Their duties include assessing the learning abilities and educational needs of each student, developing individualized teaching plans to meet specific needs of each student as well as monitoring student progress and providing feedback.

Job Responsibilities
- Facilitate lesson plan instructions to students, including 1:1 and small group provides input and helps facilitate social and emotional learning components of lesson plans.
- Assist students with test-taking strategies and time management skills.
- Supervise classes to ensure all students are learning in a safe and productive environment.
- Organize supplies and resources for lectures and presentations.
- Deliver personalized instruction to each student by encouraging interactive learning.
- Presenting lessons in a comprehensive manner and use visual/audio means to facilitate learning.
- Creating and distributing educational content.
- Ensure your classroom is clean and orderly.
- Allocate and grade homework, assignments, and tests.
- Responsible for observing, implementing, monitoring and completing specific reports regarding student performance and behaviors in the classroom.
- Responsible for providing pre-crisis intervention and conflict resolution with student, including implementing and using Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) principles, approved behavior modification techniques/strategies and physical restraints.
- This position will comply will all federal, state and local laws and regulations, including those of NYS Office of Children and Family Services.
- Communicate with Education Administrator on ongoing basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Proficient knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to work with an economically and culturally diverse population.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with students, staff, and external partners.
- Outstanding organizational abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of practical teaching experience
- NYS Teaching Certification
- Proficient knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Must have a valid driver's license. Ability to travel.
