Position Title: Material Handler
Wage: $18.00 per hour Shift: 1st Hours: 7:00am-3:30pm QPS Employment Group has a great Material Handler position available at a company in Monroe, WI. This is a 1st shift position with the opportunity for hire. Material Handler Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Read work order or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. - Open containers to verify count and specifications. - Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand. - Load materials onto pallets and install strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit. - Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated area. - Operate forklift to load and unload trucks as needed once trained and certified. - Secure lifting attachments to materials and convey load to destination or signal crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination. - Count, weigh and record number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet. - Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales or other containers. - Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band bundles together. -Remove samples of materials, labels with identifying information, and take samples to laboratory for analysis. - Make simple adjustments or repairs such as realigning belts or replacing rollers. - Assemble crates to contain products such as machines or vehicles. - Shovel loose materials such as sand, gravel, metal, plastic, or chemicals into machine hoppers or into vehicles and containers such as wheelbarrows, scrap truck or barrels. - Operate industrial truck or electric hoist once trained and certified to assist in loading or moving materials and products. - Assist delivery drivers with loading/unloading as needed. Material Handler Requirements: - Standing throughout your entire shift. - Bending, stooping, twisting, turning, repeatedly throughout shift. - Ability to reach with hands and arms throughout shift. - Lifting up to 50 lbs. on occasion throughout shift. - Lifting between 10-20 lbs. frequently throughout shift. - Ability to be certified to operate forklift and overhead hoist. - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. - Ability to write simple correspondence and present information to co-workers. - Ability to work in different climates for the duration of shift. monroe@qpsemployment.com About us: QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
