Automation Manager - (Oilseed & Speciality Chemical)

Interstates is growing, and we are currently seeking an experienced Automation Manager to support our Oilseeds & Specialty Chemical operations. In this role, you will be responsible for building strong client relationships, driving revenue and gross profit goals, and leading a multidisciplinary team of automation professionals. This position plays a key role in promoting Interstates' automation services while fostering long-term partnerships with clients. What You'll Be Doing

• Drive growth of Interstates' automation services and promote Interstates' total service offerings for new and existing clients
• Provide input in estimating, scope definition, and design phases of automation projects
• Manage accounts of new and existing clients and drive technical sales
• Drive and deliver on revenue and gross profit financial targets and other targets
• Drive and implement strategic initiatives
• Provide delivery leadership to a group of automation leaders
• Work with project managers and other team leaders to successfully deliver projects
• Assist with hiring, coaching, and developing team
• Promote Interstates' culture and safety standards on team
• Develop and manage relationships with internal and external leaders and clients
• Be a client sponsor in order to ensure client satisfaction and resolve disputes, as needed
• Other duties may be assigned

Education and/or Experience:

• 2 or 4 year degree OR equivalent experience Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S.) from four-year college or university with an emphasis in some branch of Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial etc.) or Associate's degree (A.A., A.S.) from a two-year community college or technical school with an emphasis in Instrumentation and Controls preferred.
• 7 to 10 years' experience in programming in the Industrial Environment, implementing Industrial Control Software (Startup) and experience in dealing with customers regarding system requirements
• Experience with object oriented programming, user interface development, database systems, and system integration
• 3 to 5 years' leadership experience

Preferred Skills:

• Engineering management experience
• Experience with industrial control systems
• Able to stay up to date on industry standards and promote best practices
• Experience leading clients on digital transformation journeys
• Experience with major automation platforms, such as Schneider Electric, Siemens, but preferred in Rockwell Automation
• Technical Sales experience

Location and Travel

This position and individual will be based out of Sioux Falls, SD or Sioux Center, IA and the amount of travel will vary according to business requirements (may be up to 35%).
