This includes providing tutoring on course-specific content, healthcare concepts and skills, and academic skills. This position coaches and guides students on their academic journey. The Health Sciences Tutor and Coach connects healthcare students with campus resources and guides them through college processes. 1. Tutor students individually and in small groups on content in health care and science courses. a. Provide tutoring in subject content (medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, CNA, etc.) and academic skills (note taking, test taking, studying, technology) b. Develop study resources c. Collaborate with health care instructors on content for tutoring d. Collaborate with Science Center Coordinator with maintaining and disseminating study materials 2. Coach and support students taking healthcare courses a. Explain and guide students to SCC student resources b. Maintain a thorough understanding of college policies, procedures, academic programs (specifically health science fields) and college services. c. Create academic success plans with students d. Identify students who need additional support and develop plans for improved engagement and performance e. Develop and utilize coaching techniques to empower students and promote their success f. Document interactions with students for coordination with campus staff and faculty. 3. Assist SCC Healthcare Bridge program a. Attend and assist students during bridge courses with course content and technology b. Be a point of contact for students applying to South Central College such as admissions, financial aid, etc. c. Refer bridge students to appropriate campus resources as they take SCC healthcare courses d. Advocate for the unique needs of adult learners in Bridge program. Salary Range: $23.63 - $34.18/hour Minimum Qualifications

Work Shift (Hours / Days of work) Approximately 30 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Day-time hours. The position is seasonal and works each academic year (August through June). The position will work with the summer bridge program, which runs the end of May to the end of June.
