Location: Baltimore, Maryland (US Coast Guard Yard, Curtis Bay)

Type: Non-Exempt

Compensation: $37.10-$37.10/hour

Work Schedule: Full-time, Day Shift

Tessera is seeking a reliable and experienced Journeyman Plumber with a helpful attitude.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Performs scheduled inspections, preventative and corrective maintenance, repairs, adjustments, testing, and troubleshooting of assigned plumbing equipment.

  • Remove blockage from drain lines; both interior and exterior, floor drains, fan coil units, air handling units, stacks, vents and storm drainage systems.

  • Adjust, repair or replace leaky pipes, faucets and other outlets as necessary.

  • Install, replace, maintain and/or repair domestic, industrial and commercial water heaters, storage tanks, plumbing fixtures, equipment, appliances and components; including, but not limited to, commodes, urinals, kitchen and utility sinks, water fountains, cooling towers, grease traps, circulation system for heating and cooling systems, fan and air handler coils, valves, pumps, and associated equipment and components.

  • Maintains records of activities, processes work orders and oral instructions using mobile platforms, diagrams, schematics, manuals, maps and schedules.

  • Applies and adheres to applicable building code requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of four (4) years of plumbing experience required.

  • Apprentice license issued by the State of Maryland required.

  • Journeyman's license or higher issued by the State of Maryland preferred.

  • WSSC with gasfitter & backflow certification required.

  • Knowledge of national plumbing and WSSC plumbing/gas fitting codes.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • Position duties require working outside in the weather. Conditions may include rain, cold and/or heat.

  • Position may require working in high places such as scaffolding, ladders, man baskets, and/or cherry pickers.

Requirements:

  • Valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance carrier.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
