Position Purpose


Under the general direction of the Renown Institute for Heart and Vascular Health Manager of Nursing, oversees the coordination of the cardiology monitoring/remote monitoring and support services. This position coordinates cardiology remote monitoring procedures and oversees workload. This position is accountable for providing quality cardiology remote monitoring support services to the medical staff and to the patients. The incumbent has the added responsibility of being a direct liaison between providers and patients, making sure that any patient questions or concerns have been addressed by the appropriate provider.




Nature and Scope




The incumbent is an important member of the cardiology remote monitoring team to insure effective communication and support for the departments in which he/she is responsible.

This position is responsible for the following:



  • Scheduling/Enrolling patients for the cardiac remote monitoring system.
  • Meeting report turnaround requirements.\
  • Preparing reports for all completed monitors.
  • Maintaining home monitor requests for patients.
  • Maintaining appropriate inventory of all remote monitor supplies.
  • Scans, downloads and prints daily remote monitor tests for scheduled/non-scheduled patients.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of approved insurances to accurately answer any provider/patient inquiries.
  • Placing and receiving phone calls in order of importance and electronically filing information into patient charts to become part of the their permanent record.
  • Training the support staff on proper monitor application.


This position is accountable for realizing optimum workload volumes at each Renown Institute for Heart and Vascular Health location through effective planning, communication, reporting, organizing and usage of analytical practices and problem-solving skills. This position is responsible for providing quality cardiology remote monitoring scheduling services.

The position also requires skills to execute implementation of action plans to effectively mentor, evaluate, educate and support the workgroup in order to achieve excellence within the community as a premier healthcare facility. The incumbent is accountable for realizing optimum utilization of both equipment and personnel through effective planning, managing, organizing and directing. This position is responsible for providing quality cardiology remote monitoring services to the medical staff and to the patients.

Major challenges to this position are staying current with the rapidly changing field of cardiology remote monitoring, staffing and education for all support staff and centralized scheduling personnel;managing and coordinating schedules for each Renown Institute for Heart and Vascular Health location by gathering, interpreting and correlating data. The goal is to insure positive and effective strategic planning for the future, both short and long term.

Performs other related functions as needed.

This position does provide patient care.

Minimum Qualifications

Requirements - Required and/or Preferred



Name Description

Education:



Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Medical terminology required.



Experience:



Three (3) years experience in the health care field preferred.



License(s):



None.



Certification(s):



Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred. CRAT or CCT preferred.



Computer / Typing:



Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
