DSG is seeking a Warranty & Returns and Safety Warehouse Lead in our La Crosse, WI location. In this full time, hourly position, work is typically performed between the hours of 7am and 5pm, Monday through Friday, but may vary on occasion according to business needs. As a Warehouse Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a specific department within the warehouse, such as shipping, receiving, inventory control, wire cutting, or other specialized areas. While the Warehouse Lead does not directly manage staff, they are responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of their department, coordinating workloads, and ensuring tasks are completed on time and to the required standards. The role also involves closely monitoring the department's performance, maintaining productivity levels, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. - Oversees the daily operations of the assigned department(s) to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks:
- Warranty and Returns Process Overview - receive and process product returns from customers; work with vendors to obtain RGA numbers and process credits, issue credits to customers.
- Safety Program Facilitation - Conduct weekly safety huddles with warehouse staff, perform monthly facility safety inspections, monitor daily forklift inspection checklists, attend biweekly safety meetings.
- Ensure tasks are distributed appropriately based on current demand and operational priorities. Ensure that the team meets daily productivity and quality goals.
- Enforce safety protocols within the warehouse, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees. Promote safety awareness and adherence to safety regulations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operations challenges within the department. Act as a point of contact for any operations issues that may arise and ensure they are addressed promptly.
- Work with other department leads, warehouse management, and branch management to coordinate workflow and address any cross-departmental needs or challenges.
- Recommend measures to improve department operating efficiencies, working conditions, and overall performance whenever possible.
- Train new employees within the department.
- Participate in hiring process for staff within department, interviewing and recommending applicants for hire.
- Ensure necessary tools and equipment are available and in good working condition to complete tasks. Report any equipment issues to Branch/Warehouse Manager.
- Provide courteous, prompt, and efficient service to customers.
- Lead by example in promoting safety-conscious behavior, encouraging others to report safety concerns, and ensuring that all accidents/incidents are documented and reported promptly.
- Ensure all company procedures and policies are being followed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
A Successful Warehouse Lead Typically Has:
- Advanced product and warehouse knowledge that would normally be acquired in five or more years of applicable experience.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
- Safety training on material handling and forklift driving.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs. on a regular basis, and up to 100 lbs. on an occasional basis.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
