12 months Application Window Open date: May 2, 2025 Next review date: Friday, May 16, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Thursday, Jul 31, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description Candidate will be in charge of squid husbandry and running the Nishiguchi lab aquatics room, which entails feeding squid, receiving and maintaining shrimp supply (for feed), cleaning all aquaria daily, checking ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels, ensuring water quality is high at all times, and maintaining the squid hatchery for our juvenile squids. Candidate will also be working with Sogin lab Aiptasia anemone husbandry, and caring for astral leafhoppers (Bennett lab). Candidate will be required to have knowledge on basic statistics as well as graphing data on basic software. Qualifications Basic qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field. Aquarium husbandry or some time of experience with aquatic animals is desired. Knowledge of insect care and maintenance. Basic laboratory techniques in microbiology (making agar and liquid media for bacterial cultures), sterile streaking and culturing, growth assays is not required but useful.
