Salary Section

Salary Range: $50,000 to $55,000
A variety of important factors are reviewed by HR when considering salary, including job duties, the applicant's education and experience, all relevant internal equity considerations, department budget, and funding source.

Additional Job Details

1. Ability to travel to off-site locations that may not be accessible via public transportation. (Oaks, PA, Chestnut Hill and other locations in Philadelphia and the surrounding suburban areas)

2. Ability to work evenings/weekends hours as needed. (This is not the typical Monday through Friday 8:30-5:00/9:00-5:30 position)

Job Summary Section

Position Summary

The Research Associate in the Lewis Katz School of Medicine's Pulmonary/Critical Care/SleepMed department assists in the coordination of the research activities in the inpatient and outpatient setting. The Research Associate works with a team including a Research Nurse or Sr. Research Associate and the Principal Investigators to support various research activities.

Responsibilities include: managing assigned day-to-day research activities, such as: conducting study specific subject visits including consenting, data collection, data entry, and query resolution; performance of study procedures as delegated including performing EKG's, collection and processing of specimens, shipping of and maintenance of equipment; ensuring all projects are completed in a timely fashion; analyzing data, setting research standards, and coordinating project requirements; adhering to all policies, procedures, and professional standards within the division/sub-unit; establishing strategic objectives for completing the project as assigned and providing input into divisional strategies based on functional expertise; selecting an appropriate course of action that requires independent judgment and typically involves change or innovation in existing procedures or techniques; making complex decisions within broad guidelines; establishing solid relationships with internal and external contacts in order to assess customers' longer-term needs; acting as a communication conduit on matters of operational and strategic importance; establishing priorities, providing feedback, and ensuring all projects are completed in a timely fashion; handling planning, addressing complaints and resolving problems. In addition, the Research Associate is required to enter data into sponsor electronic database and site databases per department guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements/Qualifications Required Education and Experience

* Bachelor's degree in life science, health professions or related field.

* A minimum of three (3) years of related research experience working with human subjects.

* An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Demonstrated computer skills, and proficiency with MS Office Suite software programs.

* Demonstrated ability to enter data into sponsor electronic database and site databases per department guidelines.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with a diverse constituent population.
* Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills, along with the ability to work in a dynamic environment and to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.

* Demonstrated ability to identify and analyze complex problems requiring in-depth technical knowledge.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
*Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

* Ability to travel to off-site locations that may not be accessible via public transportation.

* Ability to work evenings/weekends hours as needed.
