Director Community Safety Design and Implementation

This position will direct, coordinate, and provide strategic planning for community safety design and implementation functions; directly supervise project coordination managers. This is a high-level position focused on the strategic direction and coordination of community safety evaluation and innovation as needed to ensure movement on new programming and work at a high-level with departments' leadership.

1. Lead on planning and designing the expansion and improvement of the City's community safety system.
2. Manage design and implementation team to identify priority areas for community safety, set goals and objectives for implementation, and execute against goals and objectives.
3. Directly supervise OCS staff who will be responsible for project management components of the community safety design and implementation work.
4. Manage and maintain strong relationships with a broad set of stakeholders, including senior government officials and private and nonprofit sector leaders in the community
5. Communicate with and inform high-level City leaders (Mayor and executive leaders) on progress and decisions to be made.
6. Consult with and convene internal and external experts to generate innovative solutions and assess their feasibility.
7. Identify opportunities for improvement through data collection and analytics, review and support department performance measure framework, human-centered design, and other relevant approaches.
8. Develop and evaluate new ideas by deploying open innovation methods.
9. Ensure that clear and appropriate implementation plans for delivery on all major initiatives in the identified priority areas?are reviewed appropriately with relevant stakeholders in the enterprise.
10. Ensure regular internal communications and collaboration on status of all major initiatives with stakeholders in the enterprise.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in business administration/Public Administration, public safety, or a related field.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

Requires five years of progressively responsible and related experience in leading public facing organizational transformation efforts which involve collaborating with multiple internal and external stakeholders. Government experience is preferred.
