Posting Summary
Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Support Specialist for the Graduate Medical Education with New Jersey Medical School.

The Program Support Specialist will report to the Program Administrator in ensuring compliance with Accreditation Council, institution, and program requirements. This position requires a comprehensive and detailed understanding of GME policies and procedures.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Reviews and processes all reimbursement requests (fingerprinting, USMLE transcripts, extra on call, backup pay, etc.), forwards them for signature approval by the Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education and NJMS Finance, and submits them for payment to Accounts Payable.
  • Coordinates the registration of permits for all medical housestaff with the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners in accordance with NJ State statures and RBHS policies.
  • Coordinates the rotator housestaff onboarding process.
  • Coordinates the housestaff training verification process.
  • Obtains verification of professional school graduation and appropriately enters data into personnel files.
  • Maintains database and binder of active Program Letters of Agreement as required by the ACGME.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Administration or a related discipline, plus three (3) years of related experience in a business office, government agency, university setting is required.
  • Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.

Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Access and Excel.
  • Experience using New Innovations (Residency Management Software Program) is a plus.
  • Experience communicating with internal/external clients.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Graduate Medical Education is preferred.
