Job Summary

Under close supervision Return to Service different engine components by performing varied entry level tasks associated with visual and dimensional inspection, from Receiving, Repair Determination, In-Process and Final inspection, required in the Overhaul, Inspection and Repair processes of Limited Powerplant to engine components (typically Fan Blades, Discs, Platforms, Fillers, etc.).

Job Responsibilities

1) Only utilize calibrated inspection tools to perform duties. Ensuring and tracing accountability of said inspection tools.

2) Works with engineering on engineering drawings, general or written instructions, inspection check sheets, standard inspection directives and procedures. Directly involved in creation or updates of job instructions.

3) Conducts and certifies in process, final inspection, and test operations to assure quality standards for engine components, issuing the final certification package (NAA's Tags).

4) Conducts audit all phases of the Repairs, including special processes, and machining operations involving milling, drilling, grinding, cutting, etc. All in house operations on multiple metals (i.e. titanium, aluminum, etc.)

5) Conducts final check on product service orders to validate that the repair operations were performed and properly confirmed.

6) Maintains a clean work environment (including assigned storage and cleaning duties) in full compliance with company standards, customer and government regulations.

7) Assists in the development and maintenance of a business culture, which supportsthe Company's overall business objectives and goals, to includeissues that involve "cost, quality, process, schedule and people".

8) Ensures the company's commitment to maintain a safe workplace and to protect theenvironment through the establishment and support of Company policy andadherence to various government regulations.

9) Train and mentor lower level Inspectors.

10) Fully complies with the "GKN Aerospace, Inc. Policy Statement on Contracting withthe United States Government" in all areas of responsibility involving direct andindirect contracting with the United States Government.

11) Performs other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in inspection methods and techniques and following relevant work instructions.
  • 2+ years of experience with AS9100 series requirements.
  • 2+ years of experience working with LEAN processes and practices.
  • Must have the ability to speak, read and write English.
  • 18 months of experience in FAA Repair Station (MRO)
  • This job role requires proficiency in English, both verbal and written, that is sufficient to understand and effectively follow written safety procedures, company policies, work instructions, operations manuals, and more in a manufacturing environment.
  • Reliable and satisfactory attendance is an essential job function of this role and is critical in meeting operations and business needs".


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Apprenticeship, Associate's Degree in a technical subject or equivalent.
  • Awareness of AS9100 series requirements.
  • A&P License or previously certified as Repairman
  • Previous delegated product acceptance authority granted by an Aerospace OEM or regulatory authority.
  • Familiarity with 3D model based Engineering.
  • GKN Experience
  • Experience in an Aerospace operating environment
  • Apprenticeship, Associate's Degree in a technical subject or equivalent.
  • Awareness of AS9100 series requirements.
  • Previous delegated product acceptance authority granted by an Aerospace OEM or regulatory authority.
  • SAP super user


Compensation Range

The compensation range for this position is between $27.00 - $30.00 per hour.
