Day Camp Counselor

Position Summary: The Day Camp Counselor position plays a vital role in creating a safe, fun and engaging environment for children 6-14 during the summer. This position is responsible for leading daily activities, supervising campers, and fostering a positive camp culture that encourages personal growth and teamwork in a Christian environment.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Supervise and ensure the safety of campers during various activities including outdoor games, arts & crafts, and educational sessions.
• Plan and implement engaging programs that cater to the interest and needs of the camper.
• Foster a supportive environment by encouraging teamwork, respect and positive interactions amongst campers.
• Assist with daily camp operations, including setting up activities and cleaning up after events.
• Provide guidance and support to campers in developing new skills and overcoming challenges.
• Collaborate with fellow counselors to create a cohesive team atmosphere.
• Utilize skills in First Aid as needed to ensure camper safety.
• Serve lunch and snacks as needed.
• Completing work in a timely and consistent manner
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/ Experience

• High School Diploma/ GED (preferred)
• Some college with a background in music, theater or creative arts a plus
• Some experience working with or teaching children

Certificate and License

• Complete Safe from Harm Training
• First Aid/CPR certification, or ability to be certified within 30 days

Computer Skills:

• Basic Knowledge of computer systems
• Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office 365 (preferred)
